I have favored the .45 1911 since carrying one for several years in the military. I recently purchased a CZ 75B when they went cheap for Christmas sales. What a sweet shooting, reliable and accurate handgun - WOW!; the main complaint I read about is the weight but relative to my 1911’s, this thing is a featherweight. Lots of neat handgun for the money (plus the added bonus of less recoil and cheaper ammo). DUH, I coulda had a V8!

You have awaken to different shooting option.

When many shooters who started with polymer framed pistols shoot my railed Sig 1911 XO, they also say, "What a sweet shooting, reliable and accurate handgun - WOW!"; especially with SWC reloads that produce single hole shot groups compared to their scattered patterns.

I like them all, steel/polymer/alloy as long as they produce holes at POA.

Now, wait until you shoot a Glock that's broken in with smooth trigger.:rofl: https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...ts-and-discussions.778197/page-6#post-9924922

You'll be back...

Or, the new Dan Wesson DWX might be worth a look, it's like a CZ 75 and 1911 had a baby. The compact has ticked my interest.

Edit:. Or, find the joy of a lightweight 9mm 1911, especially for carry. My DW Valkyrie CCO is only 34 oz with 10 rounds of 9mm, shoots like a dream and is easy to keep fed. Toss a couple 10 round mags in the pocket (and I love 1911 mags for carry as they are so flat and easy to conceal) and I'm good to go.

I agree with you 110 %. I bought one and it's hard to put it down. This is my first 9 mm pistol and I wished I'd bought a CZ sooner. I even started reloading 9mm to feed the "addiction"!!!

Just last year I switched from a full sized 1911 to a Kimber Pro Aegis.

The reason I landed on that particular gun was that I was in the midst of changing to my High Power. 9 just seemed to make sense now.

Then, once a 9 was on the table and I backed into a NIB Kimber, all I gave up was 3 or so rounds but retained that sweet 1911 trigger.

Was a time, I'd have never foreseen voluntarily giving up on a 1911 as my standard carry gun.

Weight? that's for; young, the old, the beat-up and the scale wielding technophiles.:neener:

Cinch yer belt tighter, it'll feel a lot lighter!

All these decades and I FINALLY understand the Commander concept.;)

Todd.
