these four run great, though the sigs do not work with winclean's beb ammo at all,, the sigs let me down during a indoor idpa event,,, the much cheaper taurus and springfield never miss a chance to go bang untill the clip is empty
My Enhanced MKIV series 80 .45 and my series 80 .38 super.
The .45 was one of my dads old match guns. It's got a genuine Bowmar rear sight. 20LPI checkering on the front strap and slide stop and undercut on the front strap. The rear of the slide is checkered at 25LPI (it was thought to help reduce glare back in the day). Aluminum adjustible trigger, 3# trigger pull. I think the grip saftey is a Ed Brown. The ambi saftey is a wilson that has been narrowed. The wilson extended mag release has been trimmed as well. I replaced the FLGR and mag well housing with an OE recoil plug and no name arched mainspring housing.
I purchased the super NIB to build as a my first match gun. I checkered the front strap and trigger gaurd at 25LPI and undercut it. I installed the Wilson funneled mainspring housing and extended mag release. I fit the Wilson grip saftey and extended single sided saftey. The sights are stock Colt exept I opened up the rear sight and painted the front. I installed the Ed Brown Hammer and while I was there I did some stoneing of the sear and installed a lightened mainspring and sear spring resulting in a 2.5# trigger pull. I polished the Feed ramp on the frame and slightly throated and polished the barrel. I installed the FLGR that came out of my .45 and made the little thumb gaurd to keep my booger hook of the slide release. I also opened up the ejection port to allow my long OAL reloads to eject cleanly.
The super was a project for me that took about 3 months of weekends to finish. I still need to take it and beadblast the entire gun. It may not be the prettiest gun but she looks good to me.
all photos but the Operator were taken with a D300 w/ 17-55/2.8 (on tripod), and an Alien Bee's B800 mounted on a boom with a beauty dish (didn't feel like putting a softbox together) because i was bored one day.
the Operator was taken (D300 30/1.4) in my hallway under a recessed can light and shot at 3200iso. i just took it earlier tonight.
Ive been trying to do the best possible job with the minimal amount of setup. I have a light box i made and it works well, but the occasional itch to take a few quick photos isn't enough to pull it all out.
