1943 truck gun

    Colt slide and frame both date to 1943 but the numbers don't match....got it and a later 50's Colt slide with a Crown City Arms frame with a 6" barrel for $538.00 + ship off an auction site(1 pic was when i got them).....43 has bushingless bull barrel..the ol' boy that had it before done a hack dovetail job on the front sight....was stuck on with silicon caulking!!!!!...LOL.shame he tore up a 43 slide like that...... ..i straightened it up with the dremel and brazed on from the inside ...took both apart and came out with this:):(2 & 3 pic)....haven't had 1 FTF in almost 1k rd's.....i can wack a 8" steel @ 50y every shot:D

    Looks great, but is the front site on backwards?

    thanks.....might be????....it has orange paint to the back so thats how i put it on...
