I would like to hear from someone who has experience with these---because they are quite different from current stuff.
The tang sight and mounting screws for same, a tiny spirit level spring-clipped to the front sight and even the tang sight itself are all somewhat odd.
I have difficulty believing the tang sight is even a Pedersoli product, it's so useless.

There's a lot of second-hand Pedersoli stuff at my house and most of it was apparently made long before folks began speaking the name in hushed and reverent tones.

What do you want to know. I purchased a Pedersoli Sharps simply because I did not want to wait the almost two years for a Shiloh who is selling the business or the C- sharps which the waiting time is about the same. I did not want to take the chance that I would be alive than. Anyway mine is well built and you can feel and see the difference in workmanship when you do a side by side comparison with Cimmaron, Chiappa, or Uberti. I have the Vernier sights but I don't have the levels, for me personally it takes a way from the look of a historical firearm as much as a scope does on a Winchester lever action, just my 2¢.

I am a little confused do you mean 1878 Sharps by Lyman made in Italy by Pedersoli? I just purchased a new one and its perfect. I have not shot it yet but have no doubts about its quality.

The Pedersolis I am asking about are not current production and not made for Lyman. Mostly they say "Cabela's Sydney, Nebraska" somewhere on them
The Pedersoli Sharps I have was made in 1998---22years ago. My Pedersoli Rolling Block was made in 1996. Can't find the date code on the .50 flintlock, the short 'Bess or the replica '61 musket with both band screws AND band springs.
Not one of these firearms is in current production, not the way they were made way back then. But people do sell them today, after the rifle spends years stacked in a corner. (Dang it! It looked easy in that Quigley movie, Ermintrude!)
So I would like to hear from someone who bought one 22 years ago...or someone who bought another mans 2nd hand shattered dream, from a widow or something.
