'71 vintage Colt Python. It should be back from getting its super action job tomorrow afternoon. :D

Hey Tamara...

That thing looks exactly like what we were issued to "save the the world from crime" with, in 1980. I don't believe I've ever fired one that wasn't an excellent shooter.

I just brough home a 1937 vintage Colt Official Police revolver. Five inch barrel, re-blued, but very nicely. bore and chambers MINT. timing and lock up PREFECT. I actually went into the shop to sell a few "extra" mil-surp rifles and was looking at an old S&W model 10 with a 2" barrel, but then I looked at the shelf below and saw the Colt. It looked up at me like a kitten and just sorta said "Take me home." So, I got what I was asking for the rifles and the shop owner made me an absolutly SMOKIN' deal on the Colt. So, gun in hand and cash in pocket, I left the store a happy guy. I don't have a digital camera handy, so I can't post a pic. but I will try to ASAP.

My first purchase is the 29-2 on the left. The others in the picture are a 586-1 in Nickle, Model 28, Model 65 and Model 10. This is also my first attempt to post a picture, being thay I just got my spouse a digital camera for the holidays.

...aahhh, I HATE to complain...REALLY, I do...but I can't tell whether the barrel on Tamara's Model 15 is one of the tapered, "skinny" barrels or a later UNtapered barrel...prolly' my middle-aged EYES..or maybe this middle-aged MONITOR...can anyone help me out here???...Thanks....mikey357

I finally got my first of the year and it is a early 1960's S&W 27-2 with a 8 3/8 barrel a slight turn line and almost no wear any where else. It has some Herret grips on it and the trigger pull is wonderful. :0

Sorry I got lost looking in the blueing, because is so incredibly deep.:D :D
:D

Tamara--Thanks much for the quick response...I've always been curious as to exactly WHEN S&W changed from the old-style tapered barrels to the untapered "bull" barrel on the "Combat Masterpiece" revolvers...
I've got a Model 15 "dash three" that still has the tapered barrel, and a later 15...I THINK it is a "dash seven", but it is in the COLD basement and I'm upstairs in the HEAT...anyway, my "dash seven" has a round-butt, new-style cylinder assembly and rear sight, but still has the hammer-mounted firing pin...AND the barrel is the same diameter at the muzzle as all of my four-inch Model 19's...hhmmm...VERY interesting, these Smith and Wessons....mikey357

The 15 is one of, if not, THE finest double action blasters of all time. Mine is a 5 screw pre-15 but it is my favorite of all that I own.

If you don't have a 15 get one, they are worth it.

You know, I hate it when I forget to put my bib on before I look at your guys' pictures. ;)

I need a 2" M15........

And if that box is the Win LSWC HP ammo, it's my favorite in .38 Spec. We're down to our last half box, and I don't think I've seen it on the shelves around here- I'll have to special order it....
