I was not expecting a letter. It was addressed to me not my NFA trust. I was 90% sure I was going to have to drag my C&R guns and bound book to their office.

Instead it was a acknowledge of a barrel length and oal correction I sent in April 2014!

Looks like they are actually digging through a backlog.

Why did you bother with doing it?

You have to fill in the form before before you can have all the parts assembled so its an estimate at best, although the barrel length should be correctly specified when you buy it, the OAL not so much.

I know of no legal requirement to notify of a configuration change from the original approval. A change in stock can change the OAL.

I agree there is not legal requirement. I did it as a courtesy.

In one case the barrel I cut has a different rib/vent layout that an example gun I measured for my estimations and the length I specified on my form 1 would have ended on a vent. The other was primarily a typo on my eForm 1 and was just plain wrong to begin with.

They've got to be so buried in paperwork right now lol. I can just imagine a warehouse full of NFA forms. It needs a montage of kids writing to Santa Clause and sending all their letters in haha.

Dear ATF, how are you? I'm fine. This year for Christmas I've been really Xtra good and all I want, if its not 2 much trouble, is a Krink style AK47 with 10.5" barrel and folding stock.

Your buddy,
Tommy.

P.S. Enclosed is $200 because I know I have to bribe you for what I want..

that's pretty funny. i may do that on my next one

What did you bring us ATF Santa?

Well Billy, you were very good so I brought you TAX STAMPS!

But YOU, Johnny, you've been saying naughty things about ATF Santa...
You get an ITAR application! and fingerprint cards for your Trust! And I'll be watching if you DARE shoulder that pistol brace while you wait for your stamps... Bwahahahhaaha!
