I thought I would post my findings for those that are curious about the new powder 2000-MR. Rifle is a LR308 with 16" barrel 1:10"
I started to see some slightly cratered primers as I crept towards the higher end and even at max, but nothing that concerned me at all. From what I saw I wouldnt hesitate to shoot max loads from MY setup.
Load data from Alliant (or anywhere for that matter) is limited but they had info for a 165gr HPBT and I was using a Nosler Ballistic tip (http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=584152) which I thought was close enough. Max charge is 50.0gr, brass was LC, and primers were CCI #34.
48.0gr
Avg Vel 2640
ES 73
49.0gr
Avg Vel 2661
ES 32
50.0gr
Avg Vel 2725
ES 44
Just for comparison I checked my target load to see how they matched up
175gr SMK
43.5gr Varget
Same brass and primer
Avg Vel 2507
ES 19
Ill have to play with this powder some more to get the ES down but so far it looks really promising and the extra velocity is nice considering the shorter barrel.
