Heh. Remember to boot up Moorhuhn on the PSX you seem to have there, to balance all this waterfowling with upland fowling too. It was THE game back in late 90's and early 00's when I still had a CRT video projector that was compatible with the light guns.
I know, I know. Way off-topic for this thread so let's leave it that, unless a benevolent Mod splits up this thread into a separate vintage hunting/shooting game one for us old geeks.
I'll admit I've never heard of Moorhuhn, but now I'm going to look into it .....
I apologize for the OT.....but it made me laugh, and I had to share.
There is a whole thread on that very subject ...
NY gave us a late holiday muzzleloader season this year.
I had been thinking that I was going to have tag soup, but last night this guy decided to give me an opportunity at about 140 yds.
CVA Optima V2 .50, 300 gr. Scorpion PT golds over 110 gr. By volume of Blackhorn 209.
Better late than never!
When I first saw it I thought someone was spot lighting him.
Lol yeah I rarely see bucks in it during daylight at all. My camera sits over the corn feeder patch. Loaded 500 pounds in it yesterday. That lasts about 3-4 weeks. Didnt have a chance to get out this year.
Shot him last Sunday, 230yds on adjacent ridge through large hardwoods with my 300wm. Actually thought he was a doe, but he was DRT.
Saw on small buck yesterday running a doe. No go on that.
My best friend shot 6 times with this flintlock he made himself, the caliber, not sure, maybe
a 36 caliber or even less. I hear his jabber about black powder so much I can't retain it all.
Anyhow he got these 5 squirrels with 6 shots, and as usual I only see 4 but he said 5.
We carry on all the time about me going with Encore 45 caliber and triple 7 to shoot
deer and he will use a flintlock sometimes. Like I should follow his lead into the greatness of
recognition or something like that.
We always go at it for fun so he isn't here, now I can have the last word. Yet I do admire his
rifle building as well as his eyesight. His eyesight is 16 years younger than mine by the way.
I hunt squirrels with a Remington Matchmaster which has what he calls, a super cheater scope.
Love the guy and his whole family.
Had to show my black powder kill since I just showed my buddies 5 squirrel kills.
Finally got one on my birthday. 8 pointer at 150 yards, 45 caliber Encore.
That bighorn is huge!
These were 2 different rams that were bedded about 100 yards apart. Both of them were monsters. They made the one that I got close to look small.
