I'm shooting my first rim fire bench rest match this weekend and it doesn't look like I'll make it to the range before then. The match is 50 rounds at 50 yards and 50 rounds at 100 yards.

My scope is zeroed for 50 yards, I've not been able to get to the range to find the 100 yard adjustment. I'll have 15 minutes to sight in before the match starts, so I'm looking for some help to get me as close as possible before I get there.

I'm shooting 40gr Wolf Match Target @ 1050fps.

Does 7" drop from 50 --> 100 yards seem about right? Assuming that 7" drop is my adjustment, I need 56 clicks on my 1/8 MOA scope, right?

I know, I know...every rifle is different and every ammo is different. All I'm looking for here is a reasonable starting point given the short amount of time I have to work with.

Thanks!

I shoot smallbore prone matches and we shoot at 50 and 100. On my scope with 1/4 clicks, it's 33 clicks up and 3 right (for cant) for me. I think your 56 will be a bit low, but you'll more than be on paper. 9 minutes of elevation is the general rule of thumb in smallbore, which would be about 72 clicks for you. Put 60-65 on and your 15min sighting period will be more than enough to work it out from there.

Well I snuck out to the range this morning and got her sighted at 100 yards. I had to adjust 7 3/8" from a 50 yard zero.

21" barrel, calm and humid conditions.

Thanks again for the assistance.
