Wouldn't .22 cal pistol brass be the same thing as Long Rifle brass?

.22 Brass is .22 brass unless it is .22 Short brass or CCI Stinger brass.

Using them to make jackets for home made bullets I bet. ;)

And yes, they are laying all over the firing line for the taking at my range, and most all ranges.

I have been cleaning and packing my apartment to prep for moving. Thus far I have found:

1 round of 9mm
1 round of 45acp
2 pieces of .357mag brass
~30-40 .22lr empties.

Those little guys get into everything. I even found one in my utensil drawer. I just threw them away, I had no idea that people still make .223 bullets out of them.

I though that unless the brass has a super light firing pin hit the resulting bullet will have a malformed base?

IIRC there's a company in either Wash state or Oregon that sell the equipment to make 22 or 6 mm bullets from 22 rf brass.
Corbin I think is the company's name. The cost savings is minimal though.

.22 cal brass

Yes the short and long are the same thing. But the style of the bullet is different. Yes swaging .233 cal bullets from them. I have a very high cost in swaging equipment. Cheaper to make them than to buy them. The are more accurate that factory bullets. It is easier for me to buy them than to go pick them up.

.22 brass

Yes the going rate for buying any brass right now is $1.00 a pound

Go to any range that hosts Bullseye matches. They'll have buckets of 22 only brass as the BE shooters all pickup their centerfire cases.

No, they are not.

Short and Long use the same 27 or 29 gain bullet.
The Short case is shorter then the Long case.

Long Rifle uses a heavier 36 or 40 grain bullet.
Long & Long Rifle cases are the same.

The CCI Stinger type case is longer still then the Long or Long Rifle case.
