Last year I bought the CMMG brand bolt conversion for my AR to allow the use of 22LR. To my surprise it works, today while moving items around I found a box of 22Mag shells and wondered if anyone had ever attempted or ran against a major reason not to make these conversion in 22Mag. With the unbelieviable price of ammo now the 22LR is much cheaper than the 5.56 but the 22Mag is definatly higher than the 22LR.

probably due to dimensional differences of the 22mag and .223/5.56 throat/case neck. Since the 22LR uses a heeled bullet it is easier to chamber them in gun that is not .22LR
