22 Hornet & Bergers?

You guys ever try Berger MEF bullets in your 22 Hornets?
What say you? Thanks...


Sorry, Berger now just refers to the old "MEF" line
as plain old "Varmint" bullets.

I have not tried the Berger MEF bullets in my 22 Hornet.

A quick internet search indicates they may be too strong for Hornet velocities but maybe Berger makes a version more suitable for the Hornet.

I am sure it is accurate. All of the Berger bullets I have ever tried in several rifles did very well.

I will be interested to see what others say.

I've shot the 35 gr #22002 Bergers, if you look at the jacket you can see the striations raidiating down the bullet from the hollow point to the ogive, they are there to make sure they expand.

My Hornet loadings of 12-13 grs of Hodgdon's Lil'Gun run between 2800-3000 fps with 33-36 gr bullets.

I have but one story to back this up and know for a fact they will not exit a feral cats boiler room at 80 yds.
