22 integral suppressor question

I've been thinking about getting a suppressor for my ruger 10 22 and have been wondering. Is there any real benifit in noise reduction by having an integral barrel, and also is there any loss in accuracy by going from a bull barrel to an integrally suppressed barrel?

The integrally suppressed barrel is more about the fact that you can shoot full power 22lr ammo and it reduces it's velocity to subsonic levels making it cheap to shoot super quiet 22lr. They are awesome.

As for the accuracy from what I have read it totally depends on who makes it. I'd look into the Thompson machine operative. From what I have read it is very accurate and very quiet.

I use a "can" on my Ruger 77/22 and its pretty good with either subsonic or standard velocity ammo. High velocity still has the sonic crack. I don't notice any difference in accuracy, it is plenty accurate but I am shooting standard ammo and not shooting Eley or any other match ammo trying to get sub 1/4" groups.

One thing to remember about 22 suppressors is that they are very dirty. As long as you can disassemble your suppressor for cleaning, you should be okay. A down side of an Integral is that it is specific to that particular firearm. A stand alone can be used on any other rimfire that is threaded. I prefer a stand alone over an integral.

I'd make sure the intergral is user serviceable and it's not ported. I prefer not to have ports and let my choice of ammo determine if it's going to be subsonic or not.
