So far the only powder I have found reloading info on is IMR 4198. Has anyone seen any others or tried this ? I'd like to keep the number of powders to a min. if possible.

This is from IMR's web site:

For .223 REM
55 GR. SPR SP IMR IMR 4198 18.8 (MIN) 20.4 (MAX)

For 300 BLK OUT
220 GR. SIE HPBT IMR IMR 4198 11.5 (MAX)

Also why would IMR only list the MAX for the 300 ?

If you are content with subsonic loads in your 300 Blackout, then this would work. IMR4198 is probably not an optimum powder for either cartridge.

Many of the powders suitable for 300 Blackout are magnum pistol powders. Good for 357 Magnum, 44 Magnum and other magnum cartridges.

Get a copy of Hodgdon's 2012 annual reloading magazine. It has an article on reloading for the 300 Blackout that has some more information than just the online reloading data.
