The ones that come to mind are the Ruger American Predator (there are seperate proprietary mag and AR mag models) and Mossberg MVP series. There may be others, but those the ones I found when I was looking around for one (though I didn't end up buying either).

I own a mossberg MVP that’s very accurate in its own right for the price paid. It takes AR STANAG mags.

Does Mossberg still make the MVP scout rifle which takes AR-15 mags? The newer Ruger American Predator rifles do take AR mags as well. Those are the only two which jump to mind.

It’s a shame Ruger didn’t revamp the magwell on the Ruger Precision Rifle in 5.56 to take STANAG mags.

I had one of the Mossberg MVP Patrol rifles and wasnt at all impressed with mine. One of the main reasons I bought it was its being able to take AR mags. That was about its only positive.

Biggest issue I had was the action. It was hitchy as hell, and more often than not, you had to pull the bolt back a little (after trying to close it) and fiddle the round into the chamber to get it to lock up. It was not at all smooth or positive in function.

I think a lot of that had to do with the little "flapper" they added to the bottom of the bolt to pick up the rounds off the mag. The whole set up was pretty hokey.

One other issue to consider with them too, if you try to load longer bullets, youre limited to an OAL that will fit in the AR mag. Something else I didnt consider when looking at it.

Accuracy was at best mediocre, and nothing to write home about.

It does come with a threaded barrel, which was another reason I was interested in it. Unfortunately, when I put my suppressor on it, it was only good for a couple of rounds before the mirage from the heat coming off it was so bad, you couldnt see the target clearly through it. Thats never been a problem with my AR with a scope mounted and using the same round.

When I bought mine, I was actually looking for a Ruger American, but they were in demand and hard to come by, even just to look at. I saw one of these and figured Id give it a try. When I finally did get to look at the Rugers, I wasnt at all impressed with it either, and passed on it too. Im thinking I probably should have gone with the Savage Hog Hunter, but its barrel was longer than I liked. Still, Ive never had a problem in the past with any of the Savages Ive owned.

At this point, my AR's are still filling in for the bolt gun roll, At least until I decide on whether or not to keep looking for a 223 in a bolt gun. At this point if I do, it'll probably be the Savage, or an older Remington.

Ruger American Ranch is also available with AR mags. 16" barrel where as the Preditor is a 22" ? barrel...?

I too HAD a Mossberg. Like Ak103K, I found the action rough, and hitchey.
I liked using 10shot P-mags which eliminated the sharp edges of the Mil-spec mags.
However, mine was astoundingly accurate. Especially with a Berger 70gr VLD, single loaded utilizing a single shot magazine adapter. Killed deer with it too.
Traded it off for a Webley MkII and a Colt 1878 d/a revolver!

In 1983 when first practical rifle competition was getting going I was not into M14s that were the hot set up and started using a tuned ( by Williams I believe) HK 91 with a 1.5-6x Shift&Bender. After a couple years and having a great friend in Chet Brown who had made me a few rifled since the late 70s, he built me a tuned and fluted and ported Remington 700 .223 Varmint . Free the rifle was completed, with Sako extractor mod he sent to someone he knew who fabrited bottom metal with a push button M16 release that was fitted for Colt 20 round GI mags . With that rifle I shot my way up to winning Western regional match which was held at Fort Ord that year 1985. I used it until 2007 when I sold it with a well worn barrel for $2000. It had a S&B 2-10 scope on it.
