.223 vs. 7.62x39 noise

Which is louder, the .223 or the 7.62x39, and how would these compare to a a riot gun with buckshot? ALthough it's an exponential scale, it would still be good to know the actual decibal level of each.
 
Barrel length and muzzle attatchments will make a big difference.

Generally the 223 will be louder than 7.62X39, and the 12 guage will be right even with the latter, but it will be more of a boom than a crack.

As always-YMMV.
 
I put the muzzle brake included with my Tapco compliance kit on my Yugo SKS, and it significantly cut the noise. Enough so that I wouldn't worry at all about shooting it in an emergency situation without plugs. (But I don't plan on making a habit of it.)
 
.223 is more of a crack, while 7.62x39 is more of a boom. Both are out of 16" barrels, with no muzzle attachments.
