This sounds like a fantastic idea - practice with your regular sidearm but with far less cost and fouling.

The kits for 1911s and Beretta 92s have been around for a bit, but the Sig one just came out. Anyone have any experience with it - is it any good? I am thinking of buying a Sig in the future and having a usable conversion kit for the platform I buy is a big plus. I am not looking for competition-level accuracy - 3-4 MOA is enough.

Any thoughts/opinions please?

Thanks vm

I have one for my 226. About 500 rounds through it so far, and it's been great. Goes to the range every time I do.
My carry gun is a Sig, so I can practice with a gun that operates the same as my carry gun, but a lot cheaper.

I have a P-220 .45 auto for duty, and I bought a P-220 in .22 long for the same above reason. Great for "practice" using the same gun. I've only had it for a few months, so range report to follow soon! I think you would really enjoy it. The craftsmanship is just what you would expect from Sig and with the economy the way it is now, I think .22 just became the new .45 anyway!!!:cuss::cuss::cuss:

they currently offer the conversion kit mounted on the frame of your choice at a good price along with a coupon which give you a discount on the full calibre upper if used within a year.

it's an outstanding deal...the conversion is almost free

Thanks a lot guys - sounds like everyone has had a positive experience with it, makes me feel much more confident laying out this kind of cash for the kit

Hi All!
Is the discount coupon program for buying the .22lr conversion kit, then upgrading to a full-size caliber, still going on? Does anyone know where I can find out how to take advantage of it? I've searched, but cannot find any info about it.

(I plan to order a P220 next week, and want a .22lr conversion kit, too. So if there's a less expensive way to get both, I'd LOVE to know about it!)
Many thanks!
Oscar

I ordered this P220 with the 22lr slide from Bud's for $399 a few weeks ago. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411535990
It's single action which not every one is into but I like it so far. It comes with a coupon for a .45 ACP slide/barrel for $400. Haven't tried to redeem it yet. It does seem to need a high velocity round to cycle the slide properly. Mini mags work well. Bulk 500 box federal ammo not so much.

Thanks, JoeShmoe12!
I plan to order the P220 Combat TB, so it looks like I will not be able to take advantage of that program. But at least I understand how it works now, and where to get it!
Regards,
Oscar
