I'm watching midway and sportsmans guide... watching the due in stock dates keep getting bumped back again and again... who do you think will be the first to regularly get bulk .22lr? thanks, Johnny

If you are in a financial position to do so and the prices are good, backorder at both sources. I strongly dislike canceling backorders, but I believe that Midway and Sportsmans will both allow it if necessary.

I had a decent stash of 22lr before the crazy happened, but not nearly enough to shoot freely. Learning from the old timers I'm not going to let that happen again.

Me. I ordered 1000 rounds today (should be here next week) at pre-panic prices and have been picking up some one brick at a time for the last couple months.

I think Wal Mart will be high on the list. Having had to deal with them from a manufaturing point of view, they say" we need this for this much cost to us. If you can't do it we will take business elsewhere" . Its a big ticket item to those that manufacture and a steady income during slow times.

I've heard that Walmart isn't very happy right now because ammo manufacturers are selling to other people because the are paying more. I think Kraft was one other company that told Walmart to buy at their price or pound sand.

Good for the ammo manufacturers and whatever other suppliers who put WM in it's place. Their predatory supplier practices are legendary and have been the death of more than one business in this country. I truly detest WM.......

Called the local academy and they said they had 22 in stock. Drove by, and they did! 50 round boxes of thunderbolt, limit 1 per customer per day.

Crap.

it isnt an issue of who is going to have it first, it never left. 22 ammo production has ramped up not slowed down. Its been availabile at wal mart, bass pro, and local gun shops if you get there at the right time, it sells out in 15-30 minutes but it is getting shipped.

Yeah, my academy had some Remington in stock. The problem with Rem 22 is that it fouled my S&W M41 so badly I couldn't get a cleaning rod through the barrel. I don't shoot Rem anymore.

I pulled the trigger, so to speak, on some competition, premium priced ammo though. I've got enough to last several months, at least.

The only place i have seen 22lr is at cabelas. They had federal 333 packs for a little bit more than pre-panic prices, but was still reasonably priced

Yeah, I bought a box but threw it away after reading about it online. Amazing that the stuff exists as bad as it supposedly is

I got an email from Cabelas today saying that they had shipped a couple of bricks of .22lr that I had ordered the middle of last month. However I don't see any .22lr listed on their web site at all.

I am also thinking it will be Wall Mart with the first steady shelves of ammo, due in a large part to their own distribution network and deep pockets when purchasing products IMHO.
