.22Mag Semi-Auto

Looking for a fun gun in .22Mag. Are there any semi-auto's out there that would fit the bill?

Remington makes one in the 597 lineup. Pretty sure there is or at least used to be a Ruger 10/22 as well.

Remington still makes the 597. Magnum Research makes a 22 WMR Magnumlite.

Ruger no longer makes the 22 Mag version of the 10/22. H&R made the model 700 decades ago and for collectors there's the Kodiak.

I Love my Rem. 597M, it's very reliable and accurate, it's what i use for pest control around my farm,



It has NOT failed to fire or function in any way since i bought it new years ago...

I'm with DM~, my 597M is a nice little rifle. Very accurate and there are high cap mags for those who do not live in Calif

Marlin made the 922M several years ago and the discontinued CZ Brno 611 has a cult-like following.

I was hoping to find something in the $300 range, but it doesnt look like there is anything out there.

My dad has a CZ 611, and it is sweet. He got it at a pawn shop for about $300 about a year ago. Bad thing is mags are rare as hens teeth, and higher than cats you know what.

That CZ is sweet, but it doesn't look like you can touch one for less than $500. Your dad got one hell of a deal. I was hoping to find something like the Remington 597 VTR in .22mag, but it doesn't seem like they make it.

Had one of these HK 300s 20 years ago and doubled the price I paid for it when sold. They are top of the gene pool for the genre IMHO. They sell for around 1 K$ on gunbroker. BTW they are exceedingly accurate besides cool.

H & R built a semi-auto 22 MAG back in the 70's. My brother bought one; it's a real dandy with genuine walnut stock. Zero recoil but that high speed bullet hits hard!!
