You need to go on a search for slowing burning powders ..... at least IMR 4350 and all the way to IMR 7828 works well with the slower powders ......
Thanks though I sincerely doubt this barrel and chambering will still be in this action come the end of next summer. The intention is to just shoot this until the new barrel arrives. So not going to invest a lot of time or money on this.
I don't own a 243 at the moment, but I've been loading Hornady 100gr Interlocks behind 4166 and 3031 for my BIL's Axis.
Ok so my best ideas are: 100 Partition with H4350, H100 RN with H4831SC, H100 IL BTSP with H4350 My idea to shoot Varget and 95 Partitions is just a hunch at this point (or wishful thinking since I don't have anything slower than H4831). That 1.5" group at 200 yds sounds pretty good to me, but you didn't say what load that was. I want to try that load in my 20" gun. Thanks and good luck.
Unfortunately I have no idea exactly what load that was as it was taken from our range stash that we use for sight-ins. Though I may be able to find out as we have a local FFL that is also a re-manufacturer that supplies us with the stuff..
