26 year old kidnapped

    This is very sad. I went to high school with this guy and he was a really good fellow. He was our Wing Commander (leader of student chain of command) at my military school.

    This is just another reminder to reinforce that situational awareness is very important. Keep your eyes peeled and ears open.

    Sometimes some of us think that we're prepared for anything because we carry a gun, multi-tool, knife, cell phone, wallet, etc., but we need to remember that the most important tool is a sharp mind. Having a gun isn't necessarily the answer if someone gets "the drop" on you.

    Robert (at least when I knew him) was in great shape and knew how to handle himself. We are all vulnerable.

    This is very rare in the U.S. these days.
    It sounds like something that happens in Columbia or Guatemala.
    Our prayers for his safe return.
