Would like some advice on reloading 28ga
I have
Rem STS Hulls
Rem Primers
Rem Wads

I need advice here
Powder?
Would prefer to shoot something 1200fps plus as I am using a recoil operated autolader.

Thanks in advance.

Stick to published loads only. Go to the manuals or Google the powder manufacturer sites for loads using those components.
Standard loads all pretty much hover around the 1200 fps mark, and all will cycle your gun fine.
Be careful about substituting components in recipes or extrapolating. Component substitutions in shotgun reloading can cause surprising pressure changes sometimes, and the 28 operates at fairly high pressures (for shotguns) as it is.

About 13.5gr of Hodgdon Unversal Clays will be good. I've used other powders, but if I was going to load for my 28ga right now, I'd reach for the Universal clays, after I checked the book to see what EXACT weight that Hodgdon's recommends. But, it's in the 13gr range.

I use a 1oz load for hunting typically w/#6's or #5's, but for target, the standard 3/4oz usually is a clay crusher!

Universal Clays and 20/28 are two of the cleaner, better powders for 28 gauge. I use Universal, about 13.5, with a AA clone wad, Nobel primers (a direct sub for Winchester) and 3/4 oz shot. I prefer the AA to Remington in 28 hulls as they last a lot longer.

1oz loads are done with the 28, but in reality, a 1oz 20, 16, or 12 would pattern MUCH better. Winchester should make a factory loading. You might find components at BPI.

You can also ask over at the 28 gauge society forum

I prefer either HERCO or UNIQUE for 28 ga. reloads. Plenty of data on the Alliant website. With HERCO at 1200 fps the pressures are relatively mild and as I remeber you can safely go to ca 1290 fps.
