Last November Wisconsin elected Democrat Tony Evers as governor. Evers has begun a campaign to increase firearm regulation in this state. Conservatives are pushing back , noting that existing gun laws are not being effectively enforced.
Evers is a "Red Flag" law advocate. Florence County is in rural northern Wisconsin (aka "Up North") ; that region tends to be conservative , unsurprisingly. This recent development is interesting...

The small town where I live, in West Central Wisconsin, has over twice the population of all of Florence county(4371 @2017). While it may be a "win" for that lightly populated county, it has a long way to go before it impacts the rest of us. Still an interesting development, that hopefully will start a trend. Still, by the way I understand, it only protects the 2nd as defined by the majority of those in power. No different than anywhere else at the present.

It's a start anyway. Be interesting to see if it catches on, I should probably do so writing and emailing to some of my officials.

Evers can't get dumped from this state fast enough.

I'm sure most of you heard about Virginia's elections a couple weeks ago. Well there are already two counties that have declared themselves sanctuaries for the 2A and I expect there will be more.

I also think as more states turn blue we're going to see much more of this across the country.

Board of Supervisors. According to the VCDL, that is who we should contact to get the ball rolling.

Folks, too many people are just posting images or videos with NO literate commentary. Those will be deleted.

Also it’s fun to suggest secession over gun rights, but that isn’t going to happen so let’s stay grounded in realism. Close to a close.

I believe that this topic is based on standing up for Second Amendments Rights. Is that an acceptable subject?
I pose the question for clarification , not to be a wise guy.

We gun owners, in Wis, must keep on top of the gun laws, that are coming up, with this Gov., as so many states around us, have fallen. Believe what you want, but you can no longer just move, as we are running out of places, to move, even if you could. Don't let your Republican rep bend, even alittle, as that is all it takes. The saying,"Give them an inch, and they will take a mile", has never been more true, than in today's govt. Send letters, call them, and let them know that we aren't going down without a fight. Watch for the red flag laws coming up, as that is where the real danger, will be. Remember that this is a war, and look around the country, they are winning, the rights of gun owners, are being diminished, everyday.

Our new governor is definitely favoring Red Flag laws, and an anti gun posture. Couple that with the Democratic Convention in Milwaukee next year, and he will want to show action along party lines. Sanctuary resolutions are largely posturing, but it takes away the microphone from all of the actions the Democrats are engaged in, to show that there is another side. We don't want people thinking we just nod our heads to this foolishness.

Yes yes and yes. Thank you.

“By being a Second Amendment Sanctuary County, the citizens would follow the laws that are deemed constitutional, given and set by the county.” ibid

The problem is, there’s nothing ‘un-Constitutional’ about ‘red flag’ laws.

Only the courts have the authority to determine whether laws are Constitutional or not, not county governments.

And yes, it’s understood that ‘Second Amendment sanctuary county’ is about the politics of firearm regulatory policy, not the law – but this sort of nonsense nonetheless reflects poorly on the gun-owning community, and those who work in earnest to protect our rights and protected liberties pursuant to Second Amendment case law.
