    Thanks for the link. I have one of the 3rd. Generation Colts and have always been very impressed with it's excellent fit and finish.

    They weren't all Italian forgings and castings, the frames among other components were made here by Iver Johnson in New Jersey then later by Lou Imperato who purchased the Iver Johnson equipment. All parts were finished by Colt or under Colt's supervision in varying degree. :rolleyes:

    You have Colt, Val Forgett, ASM, Uberti. Iver Johnson and Lou Imperato all involved in this process and everyone has a different story regarding who did what and when.
