3 questions about bugging out...

I've just become convinced that some really bad times may be approaching. I need to come up to speed on the whole bug out vs. bunker in notion. Three questions:
  1. What do you read besides this forum for advice on bugging out, prepping, surviving?
  2. What are your thoughts about bugging out vs. staying put?
  3. I'm about to go shopping for handguns - .22LR, .45, 9mm - and long arms - 20ga., 30-30, .22LR. Where do you suggest?

Thanks for any pointers you can offer to accelerate my progress.
 
Unless you own a 1,000 acre ranch in the back country in addition to your home in the city?
Where the heck are you going to bug out too?

As for a gun?
Food, water, shelter, heat, and toilet paper is going to be much more important.
How many guns & how much ammo can you bug with on top of all that stuff?

If I were to attempt to live off the land in good hunting country, I would prefer a .22 rifle.
Less noise to attract unwanted attention.
And the ammo is light enough to carry a good supply.

Hmmm... A regular survival/prepredness site might be your best bet and I'd suggest reading alot of threads before asking these very basic questions.
