.30-06 AR-15 upper

    I once saw an AR-15 that was chambered in .30-06 and used BAR magazines anyone know who makes this??

    And exactly, how could that be? The .30-06 is much too long to fit an AR-15, or even an AR-10.

    There is a company that does make a semi BAR. I believe that it is Ohio Ordance (sp?). They run a few thousand per.

    Cobb makes an AR with a modular lower you can change magwells out on. One of them is a BAR magwell.

    I believe at one time somebody was modifying M1 Garands to take BAR mags. I think I saw it in Shotgun News, but don't remember the name of the company. If I don't remember the name, it must have been brutally expensive :).

    THAT, is hardly an AR-15. AR-like, similar to an AR, resembles an AR, but NOT an AR-15.

    Well, if you want to get real technical... It is an AR, by all means, but not an AR-15 by any...

    Sorry for typing AR-15 I ment AR platform and it was the one from Cobb that I had seen with removable magwells.
