Can anyone give me a definitive answer? I did search and it seems that there were some who said yes others, not. The directions say 308 or smaller.

I'm using the Universal die now for 223. If it can't be used, what do I use with my double disk kit and Auto disk?

Thanks,

From the Lee Precision web site:
Universal Charging Die
Automatically charges most cases. The die includes the connecting rod and adapters to actuate the measure with the case. The measure is positively reset for the next charge when the press ram is fully lowered. Also included are drop tubes for most rifle and pistol cartridges from the 380 ACP to the 300 Win. Magnum. This die does not expand the case neck.
If it works for 300 Win Mag it will work for you. Isn't it for the Perfect Powder measure only?

The Rifle Charging Die is made for the Pro Auto-Disk with the double-disk kit. I use it on the P1000 press and it works so-so for 223 Rem because the case mouth is so small, but works much better for 7mm and 30cal.

I may have added to the confusion. The die I have is the Rifle Charging Die, not the Universal handgun die. At least I think there is a difference.

The Lee Pro Auto Disk powder measure (double disk kit) will do light Hodgdon Youth loads for .30/06 but lacks the capacity for regular loads. You can double-charge each case, use 3 disks or (best) use a Uniflow with auto linkage like Dave.
