Does anybody have some load data on a 30-30. I'm using sierra 125 gr. pro hunter. Thanks for any help. Mark.

Great bullet. You will be pleased with the terminal performance. I have run out my supply of Accurate Data 2200 powder and must start over myself. I plan to use IMR-4895. Give Sierra a call. They have always been very helpful.

If your looking for light shooting load, could check the Hodgdon youth loads.
http://www.hodgdon.com/PDF/Youth Loads.pdf
They list 27.2gr H4895 for 2094fps

That bullet should still expand well at those lower velocities. I use the Sierra #2020 125gr flat hollowpoint(30-30 bullet) in my 308win at full velocity as a preditor load for wilddogs and such... and the expansion is wicked. ;)

Thanks, I did check with sierra. They gave me some good loads for 3 of the powders I have.

I heard a local gun shop talking about re loading using the Hornady FTX bullets and he said AA 2520 was a popular powder, but I really have no idea. Anyone else used a load similar to this for a 30-30?

Sure, 1.-- varget 31 gr. Start ,37 max,2.--H4198 24.2 gr. start 29.7 gr. max, 3.--H4895 30.0 start, 36.0 max. This is for 125 gr. fn bullet, in the 30-30

I'm using 30 gr. of H4895 and a Hornady 160gr FTX bullet with my '65 Winchester M94. Recoil is not excessive, primers and cases look good. Target is... well, target is all shot up in the bullseye at 100 yards. Chronograph shows them to be around 2050 fps. I will hunt with this rifle this year and sure I'll down something pretty quick.
