Trying to find out if this ammo is worth the asking price. Here is a what the seller is stating.
Should I jump on this or wait for a better deal to come along?

It tends to go for about $100/200 rounds, so that's a little less than normal, although I personally would want a slightly better discount for buying 1000 rounds of such expensive ammo. Although no ammo is cheap anymore...:(

Of course, it's really good ammo, as well.

It's the best 7.62x51 on the market today large quantity wise.

If you reload it's even better, it's some of the thickest and strongest brass around and appears to have a very long life.

The usual vendors have it anywhere from 475-499 a case so you are on the low side at that price.

I'm buying it when I can, I don't think it's ever gonna get any cheaper.

The only thing I know of that is close to the same price is PRVI 308 at Wideners for $470/1000.

It's some pretty darn good stuff...I don't think you are going to find a better deal. Actually, if you wait to long, you're going to kick yourself. I bought 500 rds not too long ago and if I wasn't a poor college student trying to aquire rifles on my endangered species list I'd have alot more.

Have you tested out the life yet?

(BTW, Tex that one case that stuck was a fluke, we'll call it a breaking in round:))

If you have the setup, you can buy components for about $100 less than that.

Do you know how much half a case is?

Edit: Nevermind, I didn't see that shipping wasn't included.:(

Bazooka Joe71, they quoted me a total price of $510 shipped to Beaumont, Texas 77713. So shipping would be $35 for 71 pounds. They have a 1-800 number give them a call and see what they can do for you.

Man, I wish I would have bought 10,000 rounds when Portuguese was selling for $119 for 1000 rounds. Instead, I only bought 3000 rounds.

Yeah, Ammoman had it for $520 a case, delivered. So to about mid country, it would be a deal to go with Tactical Ammo. All the way over to AZ, and it might be cheaper with Ammoman depending on what sort of cut Tactical Ammo will give you.

Wideners just got some South African commercial .308 in for $460/1000 rounds. It uses the same components as the military surplus but is boxer primed with no military crimp.
