Mav - that .308 very old? Most of the .308 I have has a much more defined shoulder on it. That one is visually hard to distinguish (besides size) from the double radii shoulder on the wby.

I imagine it is, but not certain of age. I believe it is the corrosion making it appear less sharp than it really is, and it definitely doesn't have a double radii like a Wby. cartridge. It is part of my "cartridge collection"...some are very old (such as cordite cartridges). FWIW the head stamp says: LC 75.

:)

Well, keep the brass... Lake City is good stuff :)

What.. no .30-30???? Or is that one next to the .308?

Lemme guess
.50 BMG - .45-70 -??? - .300 wby mag - .30-06 - .44 Mag???? - .308 - .30-30 - 7.62x39 - .270??? -lost for a bit -- .22lr - 17 HMR
10 GA, 12GA 3.5 in Mag- 12 GA 2 3/4", 20 GA??

How bad did I botch that one :)

Pretty bad...but don't feel bad, there are a few odd ones thrown in for interest. The cartridges are as follows (from left to right, top to bottom):

.50BMG, .458WM, .375H&H, .300Wby, .30-06, .45-70Govt ... .308Win. (Actually 7.62x51 tracer) ... .30-30, 7.62x39mm, .223Rem, .30M1 Carbine, .25-20, 5.7x28mm, .22LR, .17HM2 (Mach II) ... 8Ga Slug, 10Ga 3.5in. Magnum Shotshell, 12Ga. Brenneke Slug, and 16Ga. Shotshell

Easy right? :D

Well, got most of the diameters of the projectiles pretty close :) Never seen a .40-70 in person, so that was just a guess :) The ones I said I knew though I knew :)

You didn't do too bad, and I didn't expect anyone to get the .25-20 or the 8Ga. (the only give-away is the thick rim), and the 10Ga. does look a whole lot like the 12Ga.

:)
