I have 78gr .32 projectiles.
I have reddot, bullseye and green dot on hand.
I can't find anything for 78 exactly, could I use 75gr data and load it light?

the 75gr. loads like what BB have out are seated deeper than they need be. they do this so they fit the LWS32 magazines with the spacers. I don't see what using that load data wouldn't be good and a correct OAL of .950"

• There's a handful of 32 cal cartridges, so the first rule is to be sure what data you're looking at.
• To make matters worse 32ACP goes by several other names in Europe, like 7.65x17 Browning or 7.65 Browning Short.

For 32ACP...
► I'm finding most all the load ranges fall roughly between 1.5gr and 2.0gr. So 'Yes', if you start low and work up in 0.1gr increments you can use that data.

► Optimal velocity seems to be in the neighborhood of 800fps. A chrono would certainly be a LOT of help. Most bullets max out under 900fps.

► Best accuracy comes from very fast powders in the speed range of Vectan Ba10 and VV N310.

Hope this helps

Yes, and may not even have to stop short of max, 3 Grs isn't much. Work up slow, powders are fast and case is small. :)

Was hoping 3gr's wouldn't be an issue if I did ladder test.

Sorry, should have been more specific
It is for .32ACP/7.65Browning.

I found/have RedDot data that is almost 920-940fps with a 75gr cast bullet IIRC.
Just wanted to be sure about 3gr difference. I usually keep my COAL on the longer side if feeding/magazines aren't an issue.

I am running a jacketed 71 Gr RN at 850ish from a Beretta or CZ, no doubt cast could be pushed a little harder, but all I want are accurate plinkers.

I like powders that meter very well for such small cases, although Red Dot is used quite successfully. Run a bunch of charges through the measure so you know what the heaviest it is going to throw at any one setting is.

I like N-310, WST, AA #2, Bullseye.

The plated 71gr from Berry can be hard to find right now. Have either of you tried the 78gr coated from T&B ? This is an exquisite polymer coated RN that does really well in my Beretta. It's a tad longer, so I load it a tad longer at 0.950".

I agree with Mr Along. RedDot has a good burn rate, but the physical format makes it hard to meter consistently. And in tiny cartridges, percentage of variation is so important.

Hope this helps.

I’m not familiar with either of the “dot” powders enough to say anything about them, but in such a small case with a deep
Seated bullet I would be nervous about 3 gr of just about anything. Seems a large charge for a small case volume.

I reload 32 ACP, but not a lot because I weigh every load carefully (load "windows" are less than a full grain, and Bullseye is .5 gr). I just checked my Lyman 49th and none of the max listings are more than 2.5 gr. and I never use any load data I see on any forum, pet loads website, hear from any range rat, gun counter clerk, good intended friend or gun shop guru. I'm reloading for a Beretta 81 and since it is not a "target gun" and I have many other calibers that work better for SD, I reload for function and "decent" accuracy at 5-7 yards.

Thank you all, I really appreciate your response.
Looks like I have some data to work with.
I agree with everyone that the Dot's don't meter that well. Most my loads vary .1gr in my 9MM loads.
Most my loads are 75% in power. Not full house but not pipsquek. (Few exceptions)
Looking to that GreenDot first.
Thank you all, I'll post my success.
