.32 acp

In order to get .32 ACP moving more is someone other than Kel Tec has to flood the market with cheap polymer micros, which is something Ruger could do given they did it with the LCP.
The Bersa Thunder .32s are going for under $300 on AmmoSeek, although it's unclear just how limited a run it's going to be. The listings have been dwindling over the past few days.

A friend wants a WTP, was thinking .25 not knowing how small a P32 is. I will show him tomorrow.
I will also get him to look at the small .380s, I have no sentimental attachment to the .32 calibers. (But my Colt Pocket Hammerless sure is pretty.)
I do think there would be a market for a slightly larger .32. As said Ruger could easily make a LCP .32. Reckon the Max would give you 12 tries?

Fiocchi 73- grain FMJ ball is a good affordable reference standard. High quality brass to reload. A good carry load too. I got 887 fps from from my 1944 wartime 3.4" Beretta M1935

This was my preferred .32 ACP round but I found that in my Keltec P32, I'd get at least one failure to eject from each magazine (from 2 different mags) with it or Aguila. When I changed to PPU .32 ACP the FTEs stopped.

Small guns especially can be finicky.

I would love to see Ruger bring out the LCP or LCP II in .32 and have emailed them about it. It should be able to fit one more round in the mag, and be a lot more pleasant to shoot than .380 from that little gun.

Went and did a search. They're going fast. Mostly nickel and duotones left. One site had all black, but was way more than the others. They used to make a Thunder 380 with I think a 13 round capacity. If the .32s keep moving, maybe they'll explore that route.

That Thunder Plus is fun. The big double stack grip mitigates the blow back snap a fair amount, and 15+1 * is more better.
*edited for accuracy.

Now THAT is cooler 'n hell. 😃 Didn't even know it existed. Is that a regular catalog item? Is it all steel?
Damn, shouldn't come on here, and see such. 😳
I have an old Super Bearcat; the frame size would make a great .32.
Thanks,
Moon
It’s a Lipsey’s special:

I loathe indoor ranges & when I shoot 25ACP or 32ACP I just put a tarp or an old king size sheet out to catch the brass.

I carry a tarp and long nails with fender washers to stake it down in my across the bed tool box just for catching brass.

There's a lot going in in .32, and I think there will be more. Personally, I'm waiting for Ruger to release the LCP in that caliber.

I was really hoping when it was rumored that Ruger was coming out with something new that it would be an LCP in 32acp but instead it was a double stack 380. Yawn. I really wish Ruger would make a 32acp in a slightly bigger than pocket gun. I have an EC9s and would love to have that gun in 32acp.

I have a Kel-Tec 32 and a Manuhrin made Walther PP made in 1957 that looks like new money. And I only paid $250 OTD for it in 2008. I really like 32 caliber guns. Besides those two autos I have 4 double action S&W revolvers in 32 long, two Ruger Single Sixes with 5.5" barrels in 32 mag and a S&W 431PD in 32 mag. What a cool little snub it is. I cast and reload for all of them. 32acp brass is sometimes hard to find for sale. I have around 500 pieces now and around 500 rounds of factory ammo on hand.

Me and a bud had a couple of the Birdshead Single six fixed sighted guns and both had way undersized chamber mouths at .310 of an inch. So did the SP-101 32 mags we owned. I don't know why Ruger got that screwed up. But I hope they got it correct on those new Single Seven revolvers.

They went the opposite direction and made ALL the throats on their .327s massively oversized at .314" to .3145". You may say "wunderbar!" to that, but the result of that is significantly reduced velocities using the shorter cartridges (.32 S&W, .32 H&R Mag) and IMO, reduced accuracy.

My only .32 is this oddball that I picked up on a local estate auction.
Bersa Lusber 844.

How are the sights on the 32? I had a somewhat similar Bersa .22 for a little while, until I found I could not see the sights. (I bought it via the Internet.)

I"ve only shot it a couple of times.
The sights are small and not really that easy to see.

does anyone have hands-on experience with the zastava m70 32acp pistol?

Yep. I love mine. SA, not a bad trigger(at least on mine), boat anchor heavy for the caliber, 8+1. Common Combloc construction with rough edges, I'm planning on smoothing mine out and recoating with something. Sights are small but sufficient. It's cool the way the trigger group comes out so you can clean it. Fun pistol for the price. Gets mixed reviews here and elsewhere.

I will also get him to look at the small .380s,

I took him to the range and let him shoot my P32, but then got him to look at and handle all the small .380s they had on hand. He liked the feel of the Sig P238 but ended up with a Glock 42 which I thought a good choice.

Speaking of the .32 Renaissance, I have noticed the humble old 32ACP getting a lot of attention recently... Or, perhaps I'm just more aware of 32 cal related posts now that I added one to my own collection recently. Either way, I've been enjoying the cartridge in my new NAA Guardian pistol, which already has 275 rounds through it.

A lot of people say it's unpleasant to shoot. What's your experience?

Personally, I don't think it's bad. 150 of those 275 rounds were fired in a single range session, and I still felt fine afterwards. I didn't come out completely unscathed though, the trigger guard did scrape a small piece of skin off the bottom of my trigger finger. But, that's the worst of it, and 150 rounds is a bit excessive for a single range session on that little gun. I was just eager to get it past the 200 round break in period that NAA suggests. A normal 50, even 100 round practice session should be no problem for me.

The tiny red scab shows the damage as it looks now, roughly a week later.
