.32 acp

The only pistol in .380 that I have found that compares to it in size and weight is the Ruger LCP . I have a friend that has an unfired one for sale . He has a S&W Bodyguard that he likes better . I want to try and shoot both models if I can find a range that rents them .

KelTec
Wt. 6.9
L. 5.1
Ht. 3.5
W. .75

LCP
Wt. 9.6
L. 5.16
Ht. 3.6
W. .82

If you’re ok with used, keep an eye out for the KT P3AT. It’s only 1 oz heavier than P32 and same width as LCP. Fully loaded weights of these three are 10.2, 11.3 and 12.2 on my scale, plus .2 or .3 for Pachmayr or Hogue. If real sights is a priority at this micro size, keep an eye out for an LCP custom. I put a Glock front sight on mine which is even better👍🏻 One big advantage IMO the KTs have when considering pocket carry, it has a much longer trigger pull. While the LCP customs trigger is smoother, its pull is only about 1/2 to 2/3 as long.

Below is why I never really considered a G42. Size plus 1/4# heavier….

New Gun Sam video on YouTube posted today compares Fiocchi 73-grain .32 ACP and 95-grain .380 ACP ball ammo fired from Keltec P32 and Ruger LCP. Despite great loss of velocity about 200 fps below catalog rating, only about 750 fps when fired from these short barrels, penetration through heavy clothing 3 inches Clear gel before with 1/4" medium density fibreboard rib simulation followed by 16 inches Clear gel was very good, 14-16 inches. The .380 FMJs tumbled and caused more damage. If you got to use a mousegun stick to FMJ. The .32 ACP performs better in barrels longer than 3 inches.

I collect .32 ACP pistols designed until the beginning of WW2.
Frankly, I do not think much of the round for defense.
If one must, the serious defensive shot must be delivered to the center of the upper third of the torso. Or, to the center, upper half of the head.
Yes, it is possible a arm wound would will send them running off into the night, but I would put no money on that thought. The sight of a firearm might scare him off, but for the judge's sake, do not shoot him in the back. Bad juju.
