You'd need to use the larger extension and modified upper to better the .450 or .458 running the straight case.i want a case based of the 30-06 in 458 like the 45 raptor but shorter for the ar-15 and that used 458s not 452s. and cheap barrels. it would be cheap to make and easy to.
Almost as good as ye olde 30-30 and 35 Rem. Better, if you live in a straight wall cartridge only deer state. Probably a treat on hogs. Manufacturers ALWAYS lie about velocity. 150 grs at 2350 fps probably means 2150- 2200 fps in an 18" barrel.
150 grs 35 cal bullets don't offer great BC or Sectional Density. I think the 300 HAMR is probably better because of that, but Win marketing support may win out.
Sub 200 yard deer killing, how important is the BC/SD difference?
It is based on the same brass though, before they neck down to a 223 case it is the same. I wonder if the larger body was a consideration for saami certification to make sure a 223 couldn't be loaded in a 350 legend?357 ar max doesn't use 223 brass either unless you make a mandrel to take the body taper out or fireform.

So what? If you can't easily convert 223 brass then why do you want to use it as a parent? I know starline sells 223 basic brass, but you can also just buy finished 350 legend brass, so what does it save you?
Because this exists https://www.starlinebrass.com/brass-cases/223-Basic/ but at that point .357maxAR might be the better option. Using .223 as a parent would mean using a standard (cheap and easy to find) bolt.
According to Winchester they use .357 bullets. Are you confusing this with the .351?
BORE/GROOVE is .346/.355........... Now knowing this information, I would NOT use .358 diameter bullets in a factory chambered rifle! Reason being is that the factory chamber is cut with a .357 diameter throat, then it tapers down to .355 (which is 9mm)...
Factory barrel's are 9mm and are NOT .357 or .358, but with the throating that Winchester is using, and using bullets of softer construction, those bullets can and do squeeze down in diameter to pass through the bore without issue!
I was going off what some one told me, that has already fired the new round at Winchesters intro, he also has some factory rounds and fired brass that he measured and sent me the info...According to Winchester they use .357 bullets. Are you confusing this with the .351?
Just that you CAN make it if you have to is all, and 223 is free brass at most ranges. I pick up a few hundred every time i go shooting that I didn't come with. Just like the 35 whelen I made from 30-06 last night, it's nice to have options. And 223 basic is more likely to be around if the legend gets dropped in a few years. Again, not a huge issue, but one more thing to think about. So what? If you can't easily convert 223 brass then why do you want to use it as a parent? the 350L case is like 10 or 12 thow bigger in the head then 223/55.6Just that you CAN make it if you have to is all, and 223 is free brass at most ranges. That would surely simply my quest for bullets for my .351.I was going off what some one told me, that has already fired the new round at Winchesters intro, he also has some factory rounds and fired brass that he measured and sent me the info...
