    At least for me.

Some of you who own guns in this caliber, please post suggestions for a gun (preferably compact) in .357 Sig please.

    Thanks!

Sorry that I can not help you right now. I have been reading up on the .357 Sig and am impressed with what I read. I do have a .357 Sig barrel on order for my .40 S&W so I will have that option very soon. I will give a range report when it arrives.

    Compact pistols.

    I've owned a Sig 229 and a H&K compact [Variant #1] chambered in 357sig.

For me; the hands down winner is the H&K compact. I really was not all that thrilled with the Sig.

More features, weighed less, concealed better, = H&K.

    H&K has more features that

I had won a Glock 31 .357 Sig. I personnally didn't care for it. It just seemed too sharp to me, but I might not have given it the chance it deserved. I did however discover something very cool about that gun. I purchased a 9mm and 40 S&W conversion barrels from KKM Precision. A few Glock 9mm mags and I was good to go.

I will say this, the power of the round is pretty awesome. I sold the gun to my neighbor who consiquently shot himself in the hand. It went through flesh, bone, sheet rock, the attic wood floor, and the roof including two layers of shingles. Needless to say, my neighbor is now known as "four-fingered Dave."

I love my P229 in .357 SIG. Recoil is pretty managable, and I am slowly working on getting the speed up on followup shots. I also tried the P239, but the 229 just fit my hands perfectly.

Which .357Sig gun is best at taming the recoil of the round? Can you get a .357Sig barrel for a .40 S & W 1911 model? How about a .357Sig barrel for a .40 CZ 75?

    Lofland,

Yes, Barsto makes a .357 SIG barrel for the .40 CZ-75. It's not listed on their website but is mentioned in the CZforum and I've personally rec'vd confirmation from Barsto via e-mail that they sell these.

How are .357 SIG ballistics? Between 10mm and 9mm?

A .357SIG is suppose to have superior stopping power than the .45ACP.

Lots of the nice folks at SIGforum carry a P239 in 357SIG. Compact, but not too small to make for uncomfortable shooting.

My buddy let me shoot his 40S&W 239 and it is very good shooting.

The only 357SIG I own is the sig pro. Not exactly compact, but a great platform for this round. Highly recommended.

Probably not much smaller in .357sig than a Glock 33.

I've got a Glock 27 in .40S&W and really love to get a 33 also, I know get a barrel, but the .357 on the side of the gun is just so cool.

Just recently purchased a Glock 29 in 10mm and it is a joy.

    Good luck,

    Steve

Sig 229! I had an H&K, but the trigger is not near the Sigs.

I have a couple G32's, SIG 229 and SIG 226. All are very shootable; the recoil just isn't that bad. The 226, the biggest, is prob the easiest to shoot; a pussycat. A G32 is pretty concealable for me. Had a G33, and it was just way too runty for my hands, even w/the pinky extender on the mags. I built up my 32's and they fit pretty well now. I'd like a SIG 239, but again they're abt 1/2 as big as I need hand-wise. IMO, fondle them all until you find the one that fits you best, and then find a way to conceal it.

I think Kahr makes a .357 Sig. these days.

    I love my K9.

Although I currently can't afford to shoot .357 Sig, I am very fond of them. Something about that loud *** BANG gives me a chub:evil:

I had a G22 w/.357 Sig barrel that was awesome. The only reason I got rid of it was a LEO buddy of mine WOULD NOT stop bugging me to sell it to him so I eventually gave in.

Well technically he'd be "nine fingered Dave," but for all practical purposes we're not counting the other hand. Besides, "four fingered Dave" sounds better.
