Been thinking of getting one to add to the collection. What is the best one on the market?

Plenty of good ones on the market, depends on what you like. If you like DA/SA or DAO then a SIG 229 like Green Furniture suggested is a good idea, as are the SIG 226 and 239. If you like striker fired guns then a Glock or Springfield XD would be good. What semi-autos do you currently have that fit your hand well and that you shoot well? Chances are good that you can get that platform a similar one in 357 SIG. Also will this be a carry gun, or more of a range or house gun? In the case of the three SIG models I list the mid size 229 or compact 239 would make great carry guns, while the full size 226 would be a great range/house/vehicle gun.

I'd suggest taking a look at the SIG Pro.Better trigger than my 4 "classic" SIG's and very accurate.

I'm biased. Just bought a Sig 229 in .357 sig, and ordered the 40 S&W barrel. It's like two guns in one.

I went the other way: a SIG 229 CPO in .40 S&W and then a .357 SIG barrel. I really like that caliber and it is right at home in the SIG 229. Good for the range and good for carry.

P229 or P239. :D Get yourself the Sig .40 S&W and a Barsto 9mm conversion barrel and you have yourself 3 guns in 1.:)

Just get it in 357SIG, you'll never use the other barrels anyway. :)

Sig 229, the gorgeous original .357 SIG. And it's so much cooler to own a .357 Sig made by SigArms.

    Me too. My favorite handgun.

Got one in .40 years ago, got hold of a .357 barrel and a few mags and have never switched back to .40

Yes, the P239 does require different mags for .357 than .40, keep that in mind.

You can use the .40 mags in the 357SIG P239, just not vice versa.
