I recently purchased a 38 cal. revolver. It has England stamped on the side and BNP stamped in about 8 place's. It has a 5 inch barrel. Can any one point me in a direction to get more info on this piece?
Yup. It's an Enfield. British service revolver from the the 1930s through the end of WW II. Should have a date stamped on the barrel.
As noted it shoots the 38 S&W cartridge (not the longer 38 Special). This ammo is pricey but easy to reload if you care to do it. I have several pistols in this caliber (also known by various other names like .380 Mk 2, 38 British, 38/200) and load for them all.
