My nephew, young, impulsive , and fun, saw an ad, an old ad about the old Iver Johnson safety hammerless revolvers. He promptly bought one on an auction site. I looked it over and pronounced it safe, for black powder. I told him I had one like it by S&W. "Can you make shells for it?" was his first question. "Only if I can find brass".
None anywhere online. At my friendly dealer's, settling up after a great round of consigning, I asked if he had any. He produced two bags of new Starline brass.
Now, find my 38 Super dies, which are also used and marked for S&W, some 3f black and 147 hbwc bullets. We will have some fun. And then he will learn about cleaning. Haven't done these since little brother passed.
BTW, can you guess how many things in this note were changed by autocorrect?

Now, find my 38 Super dies, which are also used and marked for S&W,

38 Super resizing dies are for .355" bullets and 38 S&W are .361" . You may have a heck of time seating your .361" bullets unless your planning to use 9mm bullets. Accuracy won't be good out of your Iver Johnson anyways so why not. The HBWCs will blow out to seal the bore anyways, despite the difference in bore sizes. We are only talking about .006".
Sounds like a fun project, be careful and let us know how it turns out.

If you are using the HBWC with the HB in the case, when they exit the cartridge the hollow base will expand slightly and seal the bore. That's how my .41 Long Colt works with .388 bullets in a .406 bore.

Good luck
