My practice load is 3.0 grains of International Clays with a 95 grain cast bullet. It doesn't hurt my hand nearly as much as 4.2 grains of Unique, but it's still uncomfortable to shoot from a gun that only weighs 8 ounces. (and I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of the barrel)

titegroup and cast bullets= smoke

I came into a 8 lb can of titegroup. really low charge weights for .357 mag. 158 gr. swc and .45 acp .230 lrn. what gets me why so much smoke. I talked to several"experts" and they say no smoke. but others and myself say lot of smoke. is this a result of the combo. or am i doing something wrong. am in the middle of charge weights and correct oal/

I have used BE 1.6 to 2.7 grains. 2.7 grains leads a lot, 1.6 leads very little. No feeding or ejecting problems with my Bersa Thunder 380. The lower charges 2.0 grains or less give manageable leading. 2.5 and 2.7 grains requires aggressive lead removal. All are very accurate with low recoil. I have also tried Titegroup and Universal, but Bullseye is the best operating, cleanest, and most accurate I have tried. Titegroup probably second, and Universal does not burn consistently at the low charges.
