Got a 405 Win. Double Rifle that was a Stoeger 20 gauge conversion. Very accurate with only 20 rounds fired through it. If you are interested, I am going to sell it. Billy

That sounds kinda scary...wouldn't the 405 Win create a lot more pressure than the 20ga receiver was designed to handle?

It looks like there is a guy on youtube who documented the build. Search for Stoeger 405 winchester

What did he use for barrels? I hope he did not rifle the Stoeger shot tubes:what:

Interesting project. I am not sure a 20 gauge was the right "platform" to start with.

    405 Winchester Conversion

The breech block and the forward barrel breech was machined from steel block. The barrels are Douglas barrels 25" and are very accurate. The stock was refinished and the receiver was case colored. Jim White did the work. He has done this with other shotguns as well as others. He is very good. I have the gun listed on Gunbroker for $1999.00.

Go to www.youtube.com and type in 405 Winchester and you can see Jim White test firing the rifle...there are links to the entire conversion.
