.41 Mag Association

You might try some Khroil oil it's a penetrating oil & might help?
I don't like the wide target triggers either.

Took a few weeks since I found this thread to read though all the posts...a great thread for a great round!!

Here are a few more for those of you who have not seen them:

I've been a .41 shooter since 1973 when I bought a nickel 58....since then I have become...an addict...:uhoh:

If it had a ".41" attached to it I brought it home. After I found out the .405 Winchester was actually a .411 four of them ended up in the safe..It's horrible...

Favorites are 4" DA revolvers...just shoot them better than anything else...

But then again 5" .41s shoot pretty good too...

1964 57 5"...50' DA

And long barrels seem to shoot ok...this is the 5th Hunter made...50 yards..

...so lets keep this one going...

Wow thanks for sharing everyone, it's been windy as all get out here the past few days & with temps. in the low 30s it's just plain miserable to be sitting at a bench in the open.:( Some day the wind will quit & I've got a couple of loads I want to test. ;)

Has anyone picked up one of the new Henry rifles in .41 magnum? I've got one on order and trying to get a range report from others.

The Henry rifles in .41 must have just been released in the last week or two as I know the last time I looked there were none and now quite a few dealers have them... Just wish they would do the 16.5" in .41 also....

So 41 mag and lower 48 grizzlies??? I saw a few 657's on Gun Broker and they sure look pretty. I just need a way to market the idea to the wife... LOL

I picked mine up Tuesday, it's not going to be shot because of the serial number. I have a "shooter" on the way.

Pic of a new to me model 58 along with my Ruger BH. The more I shoot this caliber, the more I like it.

Hello fellow 41 magers, I have a mod 57 mountain gun, love it. Some may have seen its pic on another post. I'm gonna start reloading for it as soon as I can, looking to tame it down a tad, I have arthritis in my wrist, my Lyman states in bold that their best accuracy was 16.5 grains of AA#9, how comparable is the AA to the full house factory loads, I love shootin my 57 but she gets a lil rough around the 20 some round mark, just looking for a lil more manageable loading, thanks

AA#9 is a pretty slow powder, so the loads for it are definitely going to be in the magnum class. I've been having a good time with 8.5 grains of Unique behind a 210 grain bullet, which is still in the range of a full-house 10mm, but comfortable compared to the AA#9-fueled rounds I've made and (mostly not) shot!

Got the same mold as Frank V.
Lee TL-410-210-SWC.

Just spent last eve in the garage makin' some boolits.
Gonna have to take my S&W58 out.
Only have one box of empties on the shelf.

Unique is a great powder & you can go lower that 8-1/2grs if you want to. 700X is another powder that'll give 800fps loads & mild recoil. There are a lot of powders out there that'll get you in the 800-900fps range & that should be pleasant. You can load Trail Boss too & get way down there if you want to.

When the weather warms up I'm going to start casting!

Thanks frank, I bought 3 boxes of the 41 at sportsmans warehouse, and I'm thinking on the box it gave fps for the load, I'm wanting to say it was around 1440. If I could get er around 1000, I'd be ok. I believe. I know the arhends look good on it, but a lil skinny for that kind of recoil, lol it had a bite took outta my the web of my hand after 20 some rounds, but I am very used to shooting 1911's and was holding high on the grip..
