I bought this .414 SuperMag barrel for my contender pistol about 3 yrs ago, and I'm finally getting around to firing it.
I'm going to put together some loads and hit the range this weekend.
I was looking for load data and found what I need, along with other posts on various forums from past years, by other guys who were also trying to dig up load data.

Something that I noticed is that the .414 SM case is very close to the same capacity as the .44 Mag.
And for many loads there is a similar charge of the same powder propelling a like-weight projectile at the same velocity.
I'm just saying this to put the word out for anyone who is searching for data.

This weekend, I'll be just feeling it out to find max loads for 296, 4227 and lil' gun.

Feel free to follow along

I checked numerous sources before I decided to look at .44 mag data, just out of curiousity, and I noticed that the .414 SM and .44 mag both are within .5 for max loads of H110.
I saw that the .44 mag water capacity is 24 gr of water, but I measured a .41 mag (NOT supermag) case and it held 35 gr... So I can't explain that.

Anyhow I'm just working up from 2 gr below max for those powders and stopping when I see high pressure signs.

The velocity for bullets of the same weight is close to the same for the SM and .44 mag, from an 8" revolver... A 14" folding pistol adds 200 - 300 fps according to what I'm seeing.

Time to quit writing and put the press to work!!

The 24 gr capacity of a 44 mag case is to the base of a standard bullet when loaded, while the 35 gr capacity of the 41 mag is to the case mouth. Loading a 212 SWC in my 41 mag I get 22.5 gr. to the bullet's base.
