    Dear THR:
Recently bought 500 rounds of Magtech in said specification. How good are they? I got an excellent deal on them.

    No clue.
I'd have bought a single box and benched rounds to see how they shot before buying 500.
FWIW; I reload all my centerfire ammo.
That allows me to load specific for intended purpose (range, competition, hunting) and tweak for accuracy.

I shot a few through a Ruger Alaskan and they seemed very mild. In comparison, I was shooting a 240gr LSWC over 7.5gr Unique in 44Spl cases that seemed a bit more powerful.

I use that ammo all the time in my Redhawk 7.5", 29, and 629. Its pretty good ammo.

    My latest large order.

They are fine, just as good or better than WWB and the like. They are pussycats to shoot in a Redhawk. I once took a decent sized deer with them @ about 30 yds. Dropped him like a brick:D

    Nice stack of ammo.

What was your shot placement of the deer?

High on the front shoulder, slightly quartered away the best I remember its been a few years. Honestly, I would imagine any decent .44 mag ammo would have had a similar result as it was a hit to the CNS. Just saying this stuff did its job well and is pretty accurate out of my gun, not that it is the best thing out there.

The Magtech 240 Gr SP shoots well out of my Redhawk with my handloads. I have not shot anything with them though.

Interestingly enough I have also bought it for my Redhawk 7.5"
