    I'm going to guess a 29 or 629. S&W makes pretty good triggers,at least in the .357s I've owned.

Just about any revolver can have an action job done that will make the trigger much better than stock. I would think that about $80 at your local smith would have it tuned right up. Out of the box, I would say that a S&W has the best trigger.

That being said, fast follow up shots and the .44 Mag don't exactly go together. Full house 44Mag rounds are going to send your muzzle skyward and the trigger will have little effect on getting you back for a follow up shot.

Federal HydraShok 240gr 44RM are medium powered

I' m guessing my 44RM Taurus trigger pulls about 14#s, too strong for my wife and even for me, not easy for fast DA shots. My revolver is ported & over sized at the last 1" of the barrel, similar (not same) as a muzzle brake.

I'd like to try IDPA type action shooting.

I'll contact Taurus and local gun smiths about a trigger job, but I might trade at the next gun show...

The DA on the Astra is very, very nice. Smooth and even through the pull. The short barreled ones show up here and there.
