Looking for a plinking load for my Marlin 1895 in 45-70. Have a box of 300 gr X-Treme bullets and Unique Powder.

Actually I don't because the bullets I was using had a crimp groove and I never really checked the OAL, sorta like revolver ammo.
That load is very light so slight changes in bullet depth in such a huge case won't really change pressures much. You actually might have to add another grain or two of powder since that load was originally used with a lead bullet. It's a good place to start, I never went over 16.0gr.
