I'm not familiar with the .450 SMC round so I did a quick Google search. A stronger 22# spring in mentioned. Would a stock Glock 21 need a heavier spring to shoot these rounds?

I think I would defer your question to the Glock Forum members. I think that 450 SMC cartridge would take care of just about anything in one would likely cross in the woods. It would be a good idea to get a few of the Buffalo Bore and Double Taps just to see how you, and your gun, handles them.
