Tested my shot shells today in 1911 and g36. Loaded with 5.8 hp38 and #12 shot. At 7' definitely what I was hoping for. Both guns partially ejected so I am gonna kick powder up a bit. Not worried about ejecting but don't want stovepipe. I had a squashed aluminum can and the pellets went through so I believe penetration will be good.

The primers did flatten a bit and pushed even with case which is expected as this is rifle brass and I used lpp. I got a few federal lrp I might switch to. The 1911 has almost a double primer strike and I might have done that. Will test more when I get more loaded. I think I can reuse the brass and load again which is nice as it is a pain making them.
