Has anyone tried a Henry steel carbine in 45 Colt?

Possible Downtime Alert
I am working to migrate THR from the current cluster to a new one. I would like to get this done before the weekend, but it's unclear what the timeframe will be, as testing is still ongoing. As I am writing this the new (rebuilt) host is doing a burn-in to ensure that everything will keep running under load.
When the migration happens users will see a Cloudflare message indicatating it cannot connect to the server. This is expected, and depending on how the migration goes this may last from 30 minutes to 3 hours - I won't know more until testing the various migration options is complete and I have finalized the plan.

Do you mean the Big Boy steel receiver? I looked for one, wanted the case color version but was told they were unobtanium (at the time I was shopping). I settled for the brass receiver rifle in .45 Colt and not sorry a bit. It is a fun gun to shoot. It was my first (and still only) lever action.

I bought myself a color case hardened octagon 20" barreled Henry side gate in 45 colt. Shoots very nice and has beautiful wood checkering. As above I haven't shot it as much as I would like to have. I have a big boy brass in 357 magnum too.

Thanks guys. I have a Henry 327 Carbine and was looking at the 45 Colts but screwed up and bid too high and got this instead. Oh well, It'll keep my 1894 Curly Maple 44 company.

I have one - pre-side gate, it’s a tube loader only. Good rifle, I have used it for range/target and some deer hunting. Hits with authority, and if you reload you can crank up some pretty hot loads for medium game. Henry always seems to make smooth actions, and have not had any trouble with any of them. Wish I had a side gate, but don’t wish it enough to get rid of the one I have and find another one.

I had a Pre-side gate version. I really liked it and enjoyed shooting it. Heavier than my Marlin or Rossi, but not too much. My son liked it so much I gave it to him. Nice rifle. I am sure if you get one, you'll enjoy it, Steel or brass.

I have the carbine side gate model.
Haven't shot it a bunch but the little i did was great.
Very smooth, fit and finish is very nice, very nice wood, but it is heavy.
I've since put a Skinner peep on mine.

I know you got a Marlin, but I wanted to mention that I also have a Henry X model. I really like it.

Not the 45C but do have a (R)44mag and (L)360 BHMR, been hoping they would come out with a side gate in 41, but doubt it's gonna happen.
