Factory Crimp Die
Watership Down
Harvey
Kelly’s Heroes

“In this world, you must be oh so smart, or oh so pleasant. Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant.”
Elwood P. Dowd

And here all this time, I thought we were talking about .45 acp cases living a long life. And they do. .357, hmm, not that long.

Worst movie: Howard the duck. Don't ask.
Yeah that one's up there for sure.
My list of truly horrible full-budget hollywood movies:
Congo
Cry Baby
Mission to Mars
Cutthroat Island
Moonfall
The Adventures of Pluto Nash
Hudson Hawk
Fantastic Four
Soldier (1988)
Wonder Woman 1984
Any Aliens movie after Aliens
Any Terminator movie after Terminator 2
Any Highlander movie after the first one

Im not losing many. Recovered every case past several times. Indoor range. Shooting nearly alone.
When I was shooting at an indoor range, I made a scoop that fit on the end if segmented cleaning rod. I could recover cases that went a little ways past the firing line.

I was desperate to recover the 38/45 Clerke cases I was shooting at the time. The range never fussed. But I was careful and stealthy.

I shoot in the backyard mostly now.

We have squeegees on broom handles and some reach is ignored the key is not distracting other shooters nearby. I try and avoid an awkward situation with rso.

Depending on what spring I’m using of late I can recover all. But occasionally there is that one beckoning for me.

I’m not familiar with the case you were shooting but I’ll wager I could talk to them and get special consideration if I had a rare one.

I like my range (it’s NRA HQ bldg) but certainly envy your situation.

Hunt for Red October was a good one (and before we knew Baldwin was nuts). While I tend to like reality-based if not true story type movies this was close enough for me.

We went to a “private” screening in McLean a couple beltway exits from me. I thought it was just navy/navsea where I worked at the time.

But, when the road sign for the CIA entrance in Langley flashed on the screen, the theater erupted. We were surrounded by hundreds of now revealed intel kids who worked just down the road from the theater.

Yes, the Scottish-Lithuanian Russian boat Captain had a definite ring of reality to it. Aided of course by the Kiwi Zealander Russian XO. The Russian accent is very similar to Scottish and New Zealand accents. 😏

As I said it was close enough for me provided I didn‘t mind flashing back to “The Omen“, another life like favorite of mine. Besides Sean C’s accent is cool anytime.

My cousin is really gifted with languages and even as an older adult picks them up quickly. Years ago he learned Russian. Then about 10 years ago preparing for an Italian vacation, he learned Italian. His wife revealed that at a cafe somewhere in Italy, after ordering their meal in fluent Italian, the waiter asked him why an American had a Russian accent.

Something to think about is whether there is a difference between SP and LP brass. In riffle cases shooters who shoot near max prefer SR vs LR. Just a thought.
I agree about Hunt for Red October, I like about all of Sean Connery movies, another that I watch often is For Love of the Game.

No stop it!! No new test criteria!

Not sure which comic/impressionist said it but the key to doing Connery’s voice is to start with Jimmy Stewart then loosen his dentures.

38/45 Clerke is a 45 ACP case necked down to 38 caliber. It was developed in the early 1960’s by Bo Clerke. The idea was for Bullseye competition, the shooter could swap out the 38/45 Clerke and the 45 ACP barrels and use the same frame in the different events.

The round has a small and loyal following. The target rounds are one thing but I get performance similar to 38 Super with the appropriate bullets.

Sounds like reloading isn’t really optional for that one.

I love Red October, accents notwithstanding. Such a good, rewatchable movie. I’d rather Connery do Rooski than Kostner try British 😂

There are several movies that were so poor that I just walked out before I got upset. Thank goodness my mind just erases that part so I can forget it completly. These days I would rather spend my money on firearms and reloading than on most any "entertainment" such as it is.

Annie Hall (movie) & Fiddler on the Roof (Broadway)—walked out mid-way on both.
