So far I've only shot 55 and 62 grain bullets suppressed in our AR-15s. Looking to reach out and touch some steel plates in the 3-500 yard range and maybe beyond.

I have some Hornady Steel Match 77gr ammo I'd like to try suppressed. Anyone shot 77 grain 5.56 ammo suppressed in a 1in8 an/or 1in7 barrel? I have 16 & 18 inch barrels.

The potential issue is the stability out of the bore -- won't take much yaw with a long for the caliber bullet to cause a baffle strike.

I'd be curious of the same, I have a 1:8 16" AR and a 1:9 24" bolt, and you got me wondering if they will be stable enough right out of the muzzle. I will only be shooting these through a .30 cal can eventually, however I can change the end plate out for .22 cal.

It seems like some people's experience is that on these long .224 bullets it is taking 100+ yards to fully stabilize the yaw in the flight path. They witness it in their groups shrinking at distance compared to 100 yards.

That and you bringing this up has me wondering while I wait to get mine out of jail.
